Featuring Gregory Walker, Natalia Kazaryan, Seth Parker Woods, and faculty from Howard University’s Department of Music.
Join us virtually at Howard University’s Department of Music for a performance and workshop on the music of George Walker led by cellist Seth Parker Woods and pianist Natalia Kazaryan. Featuring selections from George Walker’s Sonata for Cello and Piano (1957), Woods and Kazaryan will be joined by fellow musician Gregory Walker (George Walker’s son) and Howard University’s Dr. Mickey Terry for a discussion about George Walker’s chamber music, his compositional style, and indelible legacy within 20th and 21st century American music.
This event is part of Leading International Composers and is presented in partnership with Howard University. On Sunday, November 6, a full concert program profiling Walker’s chamber music will be presented at The Phillips Collection.
