The Phillips’s impact spreads nationally and internationally through its programs, partnerships, and resources for educators, students, families, adults, and scholars.
Education & Community Engagement
The Phillips Collection’s Department of Education and Community Engagement strives to provide high-quality, engaging experiences that equitably serve the DC community and beyond.
The Department designs relevant programs accessible to diverse audiences, collaborates and strategizes with community partners, and provides, as Duncan Phillips said, “joy-giving, life-enhancing” experiences through art and wellness.
PK-12 Education
We bring the arts to life through programs and resources that encourage curiosity, collaboration, and critical thinking.
Community Engagement
The Phillips has a lot more to offer beyond the walls of galleries. We have a satellite campus at THEARC and work with the local community to share in the creation and engagement with art.
Library & Archives
The Phillips Collection library and archives support research on works of art in the museum’s permanent collection, special exhibitions, and the history of the museum.
Center for Art & Knowledge
The Center for Art and Knowledge serves as an interdisciplinary forum for scholarly discussion, research, and publication on modern and contemporary art.
