Living Room Promo Alec MacKaye

The Phillips Collection’s Living Room is a series of intimate conversations featuring artists, authors, curators, collectors, and museum professionals. These programs feature offer opportunities to engage in discussions that connect the museum’s collection with broader dialogues.

Lighting is key to how we experience art. Join us in the galleries with The Phillips Collection Chief Preparator Alec MacKaye for a conversation about lighting the museum’s collection and his experiences working with light installations. He’ll discuss light placement, shadows, light balance, and color temperature. Alec MacKaye is a DC-based musician and museum exhibition specialist.
