The Phillips Plays: Painting Music
Enjoy a family-friendly tour of African Modernism in America, 1947-67 at 12 pm or 2 pm. During the tour, families will look closely at Iba N’Diaye’s Blues (1969), learn about the artist’s life in Senegal and France, and celebrate his love of jazz. In the art studio, we will paint music. As we listen to jazz and experiment with watercolor and ink on paper, we will let the music guide our brushstrokes and color choices.
