THE PHILLIPS COLLECTION WELCOMES SIX NEW BOARD MEMBERS
New Board members are Robin Rowan Clarke, Lindsay Ellenbogen, Alan Fleischmann, Ronald Paul, Eric Richter, and Janet Macomber Williamson
Washington, DC— Dorothy Kosinski, Director of The Phillips Collection, announced today that the museum has expanded its Board of Trustees. The six inductees bring a wealth and diversity of expertise that will inform their participation during a three-year term.
“We are thrilled to welcome these accomplished professionals whose knowledge and leadership in the arts, finance, communications, and philanthropic resource development are essential to the museum’s mission,” says Kosinski. “The expanded board represents the Phillips’s increasingly international and cross-generational leadership team,” she adds, “and I have every confidence that they will be a tremendous support as we aim to broaden and enhance our reach, influence, and relevancy in the years leading up to our centennial anniversary in 2021.”
Mrs. Robin Rowan Clarke graduated from Vassar College with a major in the History of Art. While living in Easton, MD she served for many years on the Board of the Academy Art Museum there, most recently as chair of the Permanent Collection Committee. She and her husband, Thomas Crawford Clarke, have given One Afternoon by Hans Hoffman to The Phillips Collection as a partial and promised gift.
Mrs. Lindsay Ellenbogen is Founder of Sarah Start Fund, and has worked as a communications advisor for Building America’s Future, Deputy Director and Public Relations Manager for Mayor Michael Bloomberg’s Washington, DC, office, and Press Secretary for US Senator Mary Landrieu.
Mr. Alan Fleischmann is President & CEO of Laurel Strategies, the global strategic communications firm. Over the last several years, he has been a proven confidential advisor to many CEOs and leaders across the globe. He is also the Co-Founder and Board Member of ImagineNations Group, the youth investment organization that supports entrepreneurship and enterprise development worldwide. Mr. Fleischmann is married to Dafna Tapiero and has been involved with The Phillips Collection since 2007. They are members of the Global Philanthropists Circle (GPC) started by David Rockefeller and his daughter Peggy Dulany.
Dr. Ronald Paul is an OB-GYN practicing in Chevy Chase, Maryland, and is recognized as one of Washington’s top doctors. He has extensive experience working with charitable endowment campaigns, and is President of the United Jewish Endowment Fund.
Mr. Eric Richter is Senior Vice President of Capital Research and Management Company and Portfolio Manager of Capital International US Growth and Income. He previously served as Senior Investment Officer at Boatman’s Trust Co. in St. Louis.
Mrs. Janet Macomber Williamson is actively involved in a variety of nonprofits in Portland, Oregon including the Portland Art Museum and is a co-founder of the Women’s Foundation of Oregon. She graduated from Wesleyan University with a BA in Art History, has an MA in Historic Preservation from Boston University as well as a M.Ed. from Lesley College. She is the daughter of former Phillips Trustee Caroline Macomber and John Macomber. Ms. Williamson resides in Portland, OR with her two sons.
The new trustees’ terms expire at the Board of Trustee’s Annual Meeting in 2017.
