The Phillips Collection Announces Bradley Freedman as New Chief Operating Officer
WASHINGTON, DC—The Phillips Collection is pleased to announce the appointment of Bradley Freedman as the museum’s new Chief Operating Officer. In this role, Freedman will oversee all aspects of the museum’s operations, including the supervision of facilities, security, human resources, and information technology. His leadership will be instrumental as the institution continues to advance its mission of promoting modern and contemporary art while fostering community engagement.
As COO, Freedman will direct the museum’s operations with a focus on efficiency, fostering interdepartmental collaboration, and cultivating teamwork. He will champion the museum’s strategic plan to facilitate ongoing growth and development, serve as a staff liaison for the Board of Trustees, and be an essential member of the Senior Leadership Team, reporting directly to Vradenburg Director & CEO Jonathan P. Binstock.

Freedman joins the Phillips from Easterseals DC MD VA, a leading nonprofit entity in the Washington, DC metropolitan area, where he served as Chief Financial Officer. In this role, he was responsible for oversight of the organization’s financial operations and provided strategic leadership to support the institution’s mission of promoting equity, inclusion, and access within the community.

Prior to his tenure at Easterseals, Freedman was part of the executive team at The Salvation Army - National Capital Area Command. He oversaw operations and directly managed various departments, including Finance & Accounting, Property & Procurement, Information Technology, and Human Resources. With over 15 years of experience in institutional investment management at leading global financial organizations, Freedman brings a wealth of expertise to his new position.
Freedman holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He also earned a Master of Business Administration in Finance from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
