Join The Phillips Collection for the 2015 Contemporaries Bash
The event raises critical resources for the museum’s award-winning education initiatives
Washington, DC—The Phillips Collection’s 2015 Contemporaries Bash celebrates Tokyo’s nightlife in one spectacular evening of cocktails, music, food, fashion, and dancing. Inspired by Harajuku, Tokyo underground, Japanese pop art, and Shimokitazawa, the city’s celebrated fashion and entertainment district, A Tokyo Night is part of the Phillips’s months-long celebration of Japanese Spring.
Guests at the May 8 bash will be greeted by a traditional Taiko drummer as they enter Dock 5. When not enjoying lively dancing and savory Japanese bites, guests can sip on sake inspired cocktails provided by Total Wine & More, try a new look in a fashion suite complete with a two-way mirror photo booth, or flex their gaming muscles playing Dance Dance Revolution or Mario Kart in the Entertainment Software Association lounge.
The Contemporaries Bash and Annual Gala raise critical resources for the museum’s award-winning education programs that inspire creativity, foster a greater understanding of our world, and provide lifelong learning experiences for children, teachers, and families in the Washington, DC, community and across the country. The Phillips Collection pushes the boundaries of K–12
education with the development of Prism.K12, a teaching tool to support teachers of any subject as they develop arts-integrated lessons and curricula.
Tickets are available at www.phillipscollection.org/events. $175; $125 for members
