Kalup Linzy explores sexuality, race, gender, stereotypes, and cultural identities through his videos, performances, songwriting, and collaborations with other artists. Since participating in the group show Frequency at The Studio Museum in Harlem (2005), Linzy has received numerous awards and grants from institutions such as the The Louis Comfort Tiffany Foundation and the John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Foundation. His work is in private and public collections, including The Museum of Modern Art, The Whitney Museum of American Art, and The Metropolitan Museum of Art, and has been featured at the Sundance Film Festival and Tribeca Film Festival, among others.
