Life in Color
Presented by the Contemporaries
Presented by the Contemporaries Steering Committee, Phillips after 5: Life in Color is a celebration of our collection! Wear your brightest colors (the more vivid the better!) and enjoy beer tastings from Denizens Brewing Co and a live performance from local recording artist Tommi, blending R&B, soul, and Afrobeat influences. Jazz up your look by creating your own colorful button or reimagine the colors in our collection with adult coloring pages. Afterwards, explore the museum and join a pop-up talk highlighting our newest acquisitions. Get into the season of giving by participating in the Children’s National gift drive in the museum shop, hosted by the Contemporaries Steering Committee.
Masks are required for visitors 2 and over.
All proceeds from this Phillips after 5 will go towards the Contemporaries Steering Committee (CSC)’s 2023 acquisition budget. Each year, under the guidance of Director of Contemporary Art Initiatives and Academic Partnerships, Vesela Sretenovic, the members of the CSC select a work of art for the museum’s permanent collection. Past acquired artists: Ellington Robinson, Nara Park, Zoe Charlton, and Hedieh Javanshir Ilchi.
