Marley Dawson
In conversation with Vesela Sretenović
Artist Marley Dawson from his studio in Australia joins Vesela Stretenovic, Senior Curator of Modern and Contemporary Art, for a discussion about his Intersections project, ghosts.
For his two-part Intersections project, Australian artist Marley Dawson reimagines the history of the museum in the present, riffing on the Phillips’s architecture and furniture, as well as Morris Louis’s Number182. He creates a kinetic installation comprised of chairs suspended from the dome and rotating at different axis points and a sculpture made of hundreds of rods in brass. Entitled ghosts, the installation plays on the idea of (im)materiality and accentuate the spiral configuration of Goh stairwell.
