You Exist Too Much
Book Club
For our March book club we will be reading You Exist Too Much by Zaina Araft, a novel of self-discovery following a Palestinian-American girl as she navigates queerness, love addiction, and a series of tumultuous relationships. Told in vignettes that flash between the US and the Middle East, Zaina Arafat’s powerful debut novel traces her protagonist’s progress from blushing teen to creative and confused adulthood.
Our March book club discussion will be led by Adriana Monsalve, an artist, cultural worker, and collaborative publisher working in the photobook medium. Along with Caterina Ragg, Monsalve is co-founder of Homie House Press, a radical cooperative platform that challenges the ever-changing forms of storytelling with image and text. The works of Homie House Press have been collected in the Library of Congress, Thomas J. Watson Library at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, National Museum of Women in the Arts, and the Maryland Institute College of Art, among other, private collections.
