German-Korean Christopher Park stunned the 2014 jury of the Stiftung Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival, which presented him with the illustrious Leonard Bernstein Award. After making his debuts with the Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin, the Vienna Symphony Orchestra, and the Lausanne Chamber Orchestra in 2015/2016, Park makes his US debut at the Phillips with a stellar concert of pianistic treasures.

About the Artist
“Christopher Park is a pianist who captivates with his fascinating technical mastery, astounding musical maturity, and a particularly intense performance style”—this was the explanation given by the jury by the Stiftung Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival upon awarding Christopher Park the renowned Leonard Bernstein Award 2014. He thereby joined the ranks of noteworthy musicians such as Lang Lang, Lisa Batiashvili, and Martin Grubinger, who all started their careers with this internationally sought-after award.
Numerous important ensembles have engaged Park, a Bamberg-born musician with German-Korean roots, including both the Frankfurt and North German Radio Symphony Orchestras, the Deutsche Symphonie-Orchester Berlin, the Frankfurt Opera Orchestra, the Magdeburg Philharmonic Orchestra, the Württemberg Chamber Orchestra Heilbronn, the Spanish National Orchestra, the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra of Galicia, the Cape Philharmonic Orchestra, the Bilkent Symphony Orchestra, the China NCPA Orchestra, Shanghai Symphony Orchestra, and Qatar Philharmonic Orchestra, to name but a few. In November 2014, Christopher Park stood in for Emanuel Ax to great success with the North German Radio Symphony Orchestra, only a few months after his widely celebrated debut in Hamburg.
In the coming 2015/16 concert season, Christopher Park will make his debut with a number of prestigious orchestras: the Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin, the Vienna Symphony Orchestra and the Lausanne Chamber Orchestra, and a tour with the Bamberg Symphony under the baton of Christoph Eschenbach will take him to Eastern Europe. His US début will take place in March 2016 with a recital in Washington, DC.
