Bosnia and Herzegovina Voices

In October 2015, The Phillips Collection partnered with the US Department of State to facilitate workshops in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Phillips educators spent two weeks working with emerging artists, students, orphans, educators, and museum professionals from all over the country. Using Jacob Lawrence’s Migration Series as a catalyst for conversation about the power of collaboration and storytelling through art, participants created visual narratives that were important to them. This exhibition presents artwork from the workshops—including artwork produced through an Artful Exchange between elementary and middle school students in BiH and Washington, DC.
