A privately supported, not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization, The Phillips Collection raises nearly all of its annual budget from generous individual contributions and grants from foundations and corporations. The museum has a minimal endowment and receives less than 5 percent of its support from the government through competitive grants. Gifts of any size have a major impact on all that the museum achieves.
