Intersections: Sk(in)—Moving the Work
(May 26–Oct 30, 2011)
In this video, artist A. Balasubramaniam traces the path of Sk(in), the outdoor component of his two-part installation at the Phillips, through its journey from India to the museum's Hunter Courtyard.
Sk(in) is a two-part sculptural installation—the first, massive yet delicate, suggests tree branches and occupies the courtyard; the second extends indoors, to rupture the "skin" of the gallery walls.
