Prism.K.12 Teaching Framework
The Prism of Arts Integration Teaching Framework, now Prism.K.12, developed by The Phillips Collection, is an innovative teaching tool for K–12 teachers—of any subject—to create rich arts-integrated curricula. Prism.K.12 is central to the museum’s pursuit for K–12 education reform and its mission as a 21st-century museum. It is a set of six strategies designed to enhance K–12 education by blending the instruction of visual art and other subjects. Prism.K.12 has been rigorously tested and is now the subject of a five-year initiative to engage in K–12 reform.
This fall, the Phillips will introduce the Prism.K.12 website, an online tool designed to increase teachers’ ability to use the Prism.K.12 framework to produce effective, rigorous arts integration curricula. This pilot is in conjunction with the exhibition Van Gogh Repetitions.
The Prism.K.12 website will launch in early November. Check back soon to find out more!
