Marce Miller teaches K–5 at Stafford Elementary. She graduated from Cornell College in 1975 with a BA in fine arts and spent the next 17 years in retail management. During that time she began teaching classes for a management training program. It was while designing the curriculum for this program that she realized that her first love was teaching. She returned to school in 1992. Simultaneously, she became a docent at the Fitchburg Art Museum. She began teaching middle school art in Leominster, Massachusetts, in 1998. This experience was very influential in the formation of her philosophy of art education. For Marce, "art does not exist in isolation; therefore art must be taught in conjunction with the core subjects." Marce believes that when personal connections can be made to art and core subjects, true learning occurs. She loves teaching with the incredible group of professionals at Stafford Elementary and enjoys visiting museums to find inspiration for her teaching and in creating her own artwork.
