Lynn Hommeyer teaches at DCPS and is presently the science resource teacher at Bruce Monroe at Parkview School. A 2006 recipient of a Presidential Award for the Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching, Lynn also received a Fulbright-Hays summer seminar grant to travel to Australia. Lynn finds that the science classroom is particularly inspiring for children because of the dynamic nature of science inquiry. Already a veteran of working with the school's largely immigrant parent population on communal art projects, Lynn found that she and her students were able to live their dreams during her project: "There were no restrictions to confine us into straight lines or predictable patterns. Students energized their creative forces to create something out of nothing."
