Lynn Grimes created her Teach with O'Keeffe curriculum while she was the enrichment teacher ("enrichment" is known elsewhere as "gifted and talented") at Turquoise Trail Charter School. She has been teaching at the school in various capacities for many years. Lynn loves teaching every subject in elementary school, but her main passions are art and nature; the O'Keeffe project was a perfect fit. Since the completion of the Teach with O'Keeffe project, Lynn has become the art teacher, following Robert Nelson's retirement. The projects and skills she developed while working on the project proved to be excellent professional development for her new role. Lynn has a BFA from the University of Tennessee and an MFA from the University of Colorado. She makes art about the southwestern landscape in which she lives. Lynn's home, "off the grid" in the middle of nowhere, is an adobe solar-powered house, which she built with her photographer husband Steve and where she raised her two sons, now adults and artists.
